Latest Call Of Duty Xbox
Call of Duty Warzone took the Battle Royale genre by storm after it released earlier this year in March. The free to play BR from Infinity Ward was available on the new-gen consoles since launch. However, recent findings show Warzone runs differently on the two engines.

There is a distinct lack in resolution when it comes to PlayStation 5. While Xbox Series X can run it in 3840 x 2160p, on PS5 it is limited to 2880 x 1620p. The reason behind this is quite self-explanatory.

Since Warzone is playable on new-gen consoles via backward compatibility, the resolution of the former console is the highest it can achieve. YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits figured out the resolution dilemma while testing the game on both the consoles.
“You have to start by remembering that Warzone runs through backward compatibility. This has a direct consequence on the resolution, limiting it to 1620p on PS5, because PS4 Pro was the highest resolution it achieves and therefore there is no higher setting. On Xbox One X it did reach 2160p at times, which gives rise to that result on XSX.”
The result is pretty clear when compared side by side. The details are much clearer on the Series X, like the texts and shadows on the screen appear much sharper.

Call of Duty Warzone FPS comparison
Analyzing the frame rates, the Series X drops some frames during combat but maintains a constant 60 otherwise. The PS5 did not drop any frames during the test. However, a video went viral on Reddit where a user showed off that Warzone was available for play in 120FPS on Series X. Players found no such option on the PS5.
This means that Infinity Ward has possibly boosted the game for Series X while neglecting PS5. Even on Performance Mode on the PlayStation 5, Warzone does not go beyond 60 FPS.
However, since Warzone gets so many updates in short periods of time, we can expect standalone versions on the new age consoles in some time. Maybe when Activision is tired of hyping Black Ops Cold War.

Infinity Ward has added 120fps support to Call of Duty: Warzone on Xbox Series X.
The support, which was not mentioned in Modern Warfare's latest patch notes published this week or on social media, was spotted by players as they tested the battle royale on Microsoft's new console.
The Microsoft Store listings for both Warzone and Modern Warfare mention 120fps.
Digital Foundry's initial testing confirms Warzone now targets 120fps on Xbox Series X, but mostly hits between 100 and 120fps. Here's an Xbox Series X performance screenshot:
However, Digital Foundry's initial testing confirms Warzone is limited to 60fps on PlayStation 5.
This is a puzzling difference between Warzone - one of the biggest games on the planet that has crossplay enabled by default across all platforms - running on Xbox Series X and PS5. Digital Foundry has tried a variety of methods to triple-check Warzone's fps on PS5, and all see the game running at 60fps. The PS5 has quality and performance mode available to choose from on the user interface, but even in performance mode Warzone runs at 60fps.
Warzone, which comes up as a PlayStation 4 app when it's downloaded on PS5, does not boot in 120Hz, and there are no in-game menu functions to enable it. If 120fps support is in the game, it's currently inaccessible. Given Warzone is running on PS5 via PS4 backwards compatibility, perhaps it would require a full port to PS5 in order to enable 120fps on Sony's console.
Call Of Duty Xbox Series X
Neither Activision or Infinity Ward have commented on this (we have asked), so we can only speculate as to why the companies have yet to shout about 120fps for their phenomenally-successful shooter. This is in stark contrast to the line taken by Bungie, for example, which announced Destiny 2 120fps on next-gen consoles to much fanfare this week.
It's worth noting Activision released a brand new Call of Duty game on Friday, Treyarch's Black Ops Cold War, and it may be possible the company doesn't wish to divert attention away from that game during its crucial launch period by shouting about 120fps in Warzone. It's also worth noting Activision has continued its partnership with Sony for Call of Duty with marketing and exclusives for Black Ops Cold War.
